This complete web based Release Station allows Administrators and Users to fully release print jobs with an Active Directory login, Pay for Printing through PayPal, or just release jobs at the printer for full HIPAA compliancy.

This Print Manager Plus Option is fully web based requiring no additional hardware, i.e. Coin Boxes, Card Swipes, Proximity Badges, or other identification requirements, other than his already existing Windows Security login through Active Directory.

Built as an Add-on Option to Print Manager Plus, this product redefines print security and simplicity in the same sentence. Using already existing network resources, with robust and secure login features. The Release Station Option allows for easy installation into an already existing Windows Active Directory infrastructure.

Using IIS to run from, the Release Station working with Print Manager Plus will allow many different scenarios for Schools, Libraries, Healthcare, Insurance, and Corporate customers. Integrated with all of your print queues the Release Station can be placed anywhere there is a web based or intranet connection. Users will be prompted for their Username and Password. Once logged in they can view there print job, and choose to Print it or Delete it, or even pay for it!

Allowing Administrators to display sets of data for when users login to the Release Station, allows full control over printing in public labs, pay for print kiosks, and HIPAA regulation compliancy for confidential document release.

PayPal features have fully been integrated into the Release Station allowing for full pay for print kiosks or an attendant to charge for printing in any environment.

The Release Station Option is licensed per print server and runs on the same print server that Print Manager Plus has been installed on.

Note: The Release Station Option is not a standalone product. Print Manager Plus must be already owned or purchased alongside the Release Station Option.

Note: The Print Server is defined as the computer which has Windows NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008 operating system installed, and where your printers are installed and shared making them accessible to all users on your domain(s) or Work Group.

The Release Station Option is licensed per print server and runs on the same print server that Print Manager Plus has been installed on.

  • PayPal and Credit Card options require a Premium Business PayPal Account with Web Payments Pro.

The Release Station requires that Print Manager Plus to be installed and configured.

Installing Print Manager Plus and the Release Station 2008 allows print jobs to be held and paid for with Print Manager Balance, or using a Credit Card via PayPal. This version also enables end users to add to their balance using a Credit Card or PayPal.

If you intend to accept payments from Credit Cards via PayPal, a PayPal business account is required. More information on establishing this merchant account is available via www.paypal.com.

The Release Station will automatically run an IIS installation script for full installation and setup.

The Release Station is specifically setup to release print jobs being help in a paused state in the Windows print queue.

  • Holds Jobs for Review and Release: Administrators or Users can view jobs held in the print queue by Print Manager Plus, and release or delete them.
  • Print Job information given for the job to be released is: User Name, Workstation, Document Name, Printer Name, Pages, Time Submitted, Job Cost, Page Size, Color, Duplex .
  • Allows end user print jobs to be held, until that user logs in with their Active Directory Account to review and release their own print jobs when ready or at the print station.
  • Allows users to pay for print jobs, or add balance with a Credit Card via PayPal merchant services.

Security is based on the existing Windows infrastructure. Print jobs are paused in the print queue waiting to be released. Other security can be set through Print Manager Plus settings.

  • Deny or Allow printing by users who are not recognized by Active Directory.

Print Manager Plus uses two different ways to send messages back to end users when a quota, restriction, or security rule has been met. First the product will try to use the Windows Messenger service. If this is unavailable then messaging can be used in conjunction with the Print Manager Plus End User Inquiry Tool.

Print Manager Plus comes with an End User Inquiry Tool application. The End User Inquiry Tool can be installed locally on a workstation running Windows NT, 2000, XP, and Vista or remotely through Active Directory. This program sits in the Windows tray and is started whenever a user logs into Windows. When the user places there mouse pointer over the trey icon it will tell them their current print quota balance and the number of pages they have printed. The product also has a dual purpose which is, it will display any messages coming from the Print Manager Plus Service when a user has met a quota, restriction, or security rule.

The configuration of the Release Station is done through the web interface.

  • Select Active Directory or Work Group.
  • Job Timeout settings.
  • Assign Administrator Username and Passwords.
  • Assign database location.

The release station will show the user or Administrator all print jobs owned by that user in multiple print queues. The job can then be paid for via PayPal or whatever means the organization gives them.

The jobs will be held in the queue for a set amount of time and can be automatically deleted if nothing is done with it. Users have the option of Deleting or printing the print job from the release station.

The Print Manager Plus Release can be configured to allow users to pay for specific jobs in queue using PayPal and add balance to their Print Manager Plus account via a credit card or pay pal account.
