Print Manager Plus now provides the option to Verify a job that has been restricted, rather than only being able to Delete or Pause. Verifying the job notifies the users of why they may not want to print that job with customizable text.

* Project / Client Billing List Caching
The client list used in Client Billing verification is now cached allowing it to appear quicker and more efficiently. This feature specifically targets end users with large client lists, or networks where the client list needs to travel substantial distances (such as a VPN).

* New Streamlined Tracking
The Print Manager Plus service has had all database interaction revamped for optimum performance in every setup. This specifically targets large networks sharing a central SQL database with a low bandwidth or VPN connection. Software and Printing performance is now greatly improved, even in the event of Network and Database latencies.

* Improved the load time and reliability of filtering of users when filters are applied on Groups and OUs with an Active Account.

* Custom Groups are now always available, regardless of the filtering options.

* Added support for properly handling Organizational Units and Groups which have the same name, and that exist within the same Tier of Active Directory.

* Handled an issue where the traversal of nested groups can cross into multiple domains when only users and groups from the local domain were needed.

* Improved the handling of users who have printed but were not found in the domain. These users will always display, regardless of the Active Directory View settings.


Service Updates and Fixes:

* Resolved issues with the Default Page Size Cost not being applied when jobs being printed had an unknown Page Size.

* Improved the ability to properly validate Active Directory Username and Password authentication, especially in very secure environments.

* Greatly increased the reliability of the End User Inquiry Tool, being able to automatically locate the Print Server when checking balances.

* The page size and job length is now rounded when stored in the SQL database, to ensure accuracy and increasing the speed of queries that perform Joins on these fields.

* Default User Setting: Added a feature to the Print Manager Plus Administrator and service allowing a Default Account setting for users. This setting can be applied to all users, or used to apply a default quota to users in other Domains, and in Non-Windows domains. This new feature also adds these users to Users tab allowing you to further set restrictions and quotas on users from Non-Windows Domains.

* Authentication for LPR Printing: Print Manager Plus now supports Client Billing and User Authentication popups when using LPR Printing from Macintosh and Windows Clients.

Service Updates:

* Service Monitoring: The Print Manager Plus service now has been updated with automatic monitoring. This allows the service to prevent and detect issues which potentially inhibit the service from tracking and logging printing. This includes monitoring for circumstances such as print spooler errors, database connection issues and any internal issues that may occur. The Monitor will restart specific threads or the entire service if necessary to maintain its database connections and continue tracking printing properly.

* Apostrophe Update: Fixed an issue where Printers with Apostrophes in the Printer Name would not be properly tracked or restricted.

* Page Size Detection: Improved the services ability to charge the correct page size by handling small variations in how printer drivers report each page size. This will ensure the correct page size is logged and recorded.

Administrator Updates:

* Black And White Restriction: Made updates to the Print Manager Plus Administrator to ensure the Black and White restriction can not become erroneously enabled. This handles issues where the database would enable the black and white printing restriction incorrectly because of certain database defaults and settings.

* Cost Settings by Page Size: Updated the Print Manager Plus administrator to ensure Printers records within the database can not get corrupted by selecting and changing more page sizes that the database could properly support. This would intermittently result in costs per page size not being set, or for the printers list becoming hidden within Print Manager Plus.
